Taxi Cab Fare

Taxi Cab Fare

Paying via Credit cards is convenient but cash could actually save you some. Credit Card companies, especially American Express, charges a huge percentage of the transaction amount, as the processing fees. So this effectively means that every time you are paying for your taxi cab ride with a credit card, a fair amount of that, is actually kept by the credit card company whose card you are using (how did you think they made money if you made all your payments well within the due dates).

Anyway, after paying for gas, driver salaries, taxes, etc., the cab companies don’t really have too much left as their earnings from the ride – More so, if the credit card companies also step in to charge up to 10% of the fare. Cash payment also ensures immediate cash-in-hand for the taxi cabcompanies, as compared to credit card payments, since it takes up to 3 business days for the credit card companies to credit the amount in their bank.

Pay Cash to save money on your taxi cab fare

Taxi cab Fare  should be paid by cash to save money. So while making a reservation, it would be a good idea for you to find out if the taxi cab company gives any discount on cash payment. Some companies I know, for instance Ur Cab & Limo Service will a 10% discount on meter fare, if you are paying by cash.

Taxi Cab Fare when you are travelling to use a company credit card

Taxi Cab & Limousines Service is the premier San Francisco bay area taxi cab & limo services and airport transportation services provider, authorized by the San Francisco Airport, San Jose airport and Oakland Airport, our fleet stationed at SFO within minutes of Oakland and San Jose Airports. We also run popular wine country and wine tasting tours in Napa Valley, wine country tours in Sonoma Valley, and many great customized tours.

Of course, if you are travelling on official business and it is your company policy that requires you to use a company credit card, then you might not have much of an option there. But if your company allows you to pay by cash, then most taxi cab Fare companies will be happy to provide you with a receipt / invoice that you can submit in your expense report. But, if you are planning personal travel, getting some cash out of the ATM to pay for the ride, could actually end up saving you those precious dollars.
